A replica of Sir Moses Ezekiel's sculpture of Confederate General and former Professor at VMI, Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson. Jackson is depicted surveying the field before the Battle of Chancellorsville, VA where he received his mortal wound.
The statue of Jackson was removed from the VMI campus in December 2020 after standing there for over 108 years. It was relocated to the Virginia Museum of Civil War in the New Market Battlefield Historical Park.
